Australian Senator: Divorce Bad for the Climate
Australia dating and relationships are no doubt a challenge as evident in the fact that approximately 40 percent of all marriages end in divorce. The Australian divorce rate is however, lower than what it is in the US where the divorce rate currently sets between 43 and 50 percent.
There is no denying that divorce takes its toll on many relationships, devestating both men and women alike as their marriages end. But one Australian politician has said that divorce is also bad for the climate.
According to Steve Fielding, the head of the independent party Family First, divorce is bad for the climate. In a statement prepared for senate hearings in the Australian capital, Canberra, divorce has worsened climage change. Fielding defends the statement by saying that divorced couples need more rooms, more electricity and more water. All of these contribute to the carbon footprint.
The Australian senator says that a lasting marriage is good for the planet as divorce leads the newly single to lead a wasteful lifestyle.
